Police General Department’s Youth Union kicks off traditional sport festival

PSNews – The Police General Department’s Youth Union on March 12 launched the 2018 sport festival with the participations of 400 athletes from 15 sport delegations representing agencies and units.

The event saw the attendance of Major General Pham Van Cac, Deputy Director of the Police General Department under the Ministry of Public Security.

The sport festival aims to celebrate the 87th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and 62th anniversary of the Public Security Forces’ Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (1956-2018).

400 athletes from 15 sport delegations representing agencies and units of the Police General Department will participate in three events: football, badminton and tug-of-war. The games will take place from March 12 to 23.

Addressing the event, Major General Pham Van Cac emphasized that the event is a practical activity helping officers and Youth Union members improve their fitness, skills and combat spirit. It also aims to select athletes for the sport teams of the Police General Department who will participate in sport events of the Ministry of Public Security.
