Police in Central Highlands achieve good results in preventing and fighting crimes

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a conference on crime prevention and fight in the Central Highlands on May 13 at the headquarters of the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.

According to reports at the conference, the police departments of the provinces of the Central Highlands in coordination with relevant local agencies and units has basically ensured security and order in their designated localities, and gained various fine outcomes.

The number of criminal offences reduced while the rate of successful verification and handling of crime denunciations exceeded set targets.

Particularly, the police units in the Central Highlands’ provinces successfully investigated 4,110 cases, arrested 5,227 people involved, and cracked down on 174 criminal gangs in 2018.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong applauded the good results of the Provincial Police Departments in the Central Highlands, saying that they had made contributions to the region’s socio-economic development.

He also asked all police units in the region to focus on stamping out organized and transnational crimes.
