Police of Ho Chi Minh City and six Southern provinces sign coordination regulation

PSNews - The police forces of Ho Chi Minh City and six neighboring provinces, namely Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Long An, and Tien Giang, held a meeting recently in Ho Chi Minh City to sign a coordination regulation on ensuring security and order.

The event saw the presence of General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, and Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee, the city and the provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Long An, and Tien Giang serve as a strategic political and dynamic economic center of the South and the whole country.

Along with the socio-economic development, all kinds of crimes are strongly operating in the area of the provinces and city. Since 2018, there have been 28,347 criminal offenses in the area. Particularly, from 2018 to 2019, there were 20,435 criminal cases in the area, accounting for 19.56% of the country's total cases.

In order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of crime prevention and control as well as to strengthen the coordination in ensuring political security and social order for socio-economic development of the localities, the police of the provinces and city signed a coordination regulation on safeguarding security and order in the whole subregion.

According to the coordination regulation, the local police units will synchronously implement working measures to effectively fight all kinds of crimes and quickly destroy criminal groups while mobilizing local people to participate in the “All people fight against crimes” movement and disseminating the laws to all people in the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam and Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong spoke highly of the efforts and efforts of the police forces of Ho Chi Minh City and the six neighboring provinces.

The two leaders of the Public Security Forces believed that the police of the provinces and city will stand united to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully complete their assigned tasks and make more achievements, deserving the trust of the local authorities and people in the forces.
