Police support mountainous district

PSNews - The Standing Committee of the Public Security Youth Union organization, in collaboration with Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, Vietnam Phoenix Tourism Company and MVG Company on July 1st, carried out social activities and participated in building a new rural model in Nhu Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province.

Nhu Xuan is a mountainous province, situated in the southwest of Thanh Hoa, about 57 kilometers from Thanh Hoa city. It shares border with Nghe An province and Laos. It is a poor district with difficulties in facilities, accommodation and working conditions.

Recognizing the difficulties Nhu Xuan is facing, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi mobilized organizations and individuals to fund for social programs of public security youths. These involve activities to support poor localities and present gifts to beneficiary families on the occasion of the 70th Day of Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs.

CEO of Vietnam Phoenix Tourism Company Nguyen Van Hung, who  used to be the Head of the Political Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police and to work along with Lieutenant General Muoi when they were active Youth Union cadres, donated 400 million VND to support the Youth Union organization of the Ministry of Public Security in doing social activities in Nhu Xuan. The donation included 300 million VND to help upgrade facilities for the Nhu Xuan District Police and 100 million VND to buy water purifiers for local schools and to support beneficiary families.

On July 1st, the working mission came to Tan Lap hamlet, Tan Binh commune to present a water purifier and 1 million VND to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ha Thi Tu who had 2 son fallen for the national defense cause. On behalf of the mission, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi expressed his gratitude to the sacrifices and contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ha Thi Tu and her family for national construction and defense.

On this occasion, the mission also visited the headquarters of the Nhu Xuan District Police and presented 300 million VND to the district police to upgrade the offices. The Nhu Xuan police's premises were built in 1986 and are downgrading.

The mission also visited Hoa Quy kindergarten (Quang Hop hamlet, Hoa Quy commune) and handed a water purifier worth 40 million VND. Headmistress of Hoa Quy kindergarten Pham Thi Hai extended deep thanks to the mission. She said: "This precious gift would provide daily clean water for the school, improving health of children and to attract more children to the school."

Same day, in a cultural exchange program with local people, the mission also presented 50 gifts worth 1 million VND each to local policy beneficiary families and poor people and studious students.
