The vehicle's windshield was broken, preventing the escort from arriving on time.

The wedding escort coach set off in the early morning, leaving Ben Tre for Ho Chi Minh City, said Tran Trong Nhan, driver of the coach.

When the coach was running on Rach Mieu bridge, it was suddenly attacked by two guys with helmets and stones, breaking its windshield.

The driver managed to drive another 100 meters and stopped the coach at the traffic lights. The two guys caught the bus and attacked the driver with stones when he got off the coach.

Members of the wedding entourage managed to seizedthe attackers and called the police. The broken windshield meant the escort coachcould not continue their trip to the bridegroom family as planned.

Despite his injuries in the attack, the driver tried to contact other car renting services but he failed to do so.

The police officers at the scene who knew the tough situation called and asked their leadersfor help. Fortunately, leaders of the provincial police showed their empathy with the bride family and ordered the My Tho Municipal Police to transport the troubled family to the wedding ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to the police’s help, the entourage arrived at the wedding hall on time and the wedding was held as planned.

According to Colonel Pham The Kim, Deputy Head of the My Tho Municipal Police, the deployment of police’s vehicles for a private use is a sensitive activity, requiring the leadership to carefully calculate. “We, the unit’s leaders will have discipline problems if our order is wrong. In that case, we thought that, as we used a police vehicle to assist people in difficulty, it was worth holding the responsibility to the higher level leadership for the wrong use of the vehicle of the police force, the police officer said.

The wedding was ended with all people feeling happy. The couple’s family members expressed their gratitude to the police force of My Tho for their timely and effective support.

The story was then shared quickly and widely on various social networks, receiving positive comments and sentiments from cyber communities. The gesture of the My Tho Municipal Police was simple but significant, contributing to raising the status and beautifying the image of the police force and Public Security Forces as a whole.
