Policemen of Ha Tinh donate blood to save elderly patient

An 80-year-old patient named Tran Tuan Nghia, resident of Phuc Dong commune, Huong Khe district (Ha Tinh), was saved thanks to the time blood donation of young policemen of Ha Tinh.

The old man in a critical condition was hospitalized and in need of blood transfusion on February 11 while the hospital ran out of blood due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon receiving the case, 4 policemen from various units under the Provincial Police Department of Ha Tinh came to the hospital and donated their blood to save the man.

After taking hematological tests, two of them met all requirements and donated their blood.

But on February 14, the 80-year-old patient again got worse, requiring urgent blood transfusion.

Two other policemen of the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Department raced to the hospital and donated more blood.

Being transfused enough blood and in time, the old-aged patient was saved.

Members of a blood donation club under the Provincial Police Department of Ha Tinh, which was established in August 2018, have donated their blood to save 52 patients so far.

Since the beginning of 2022, they have donated blood to save 3 people.
