General To Lam, Politburo Member, Secretary of the PSCPC and Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.
According to the Politburo’s decision issued on June 1, the Public Security Central Party Committee consists of 27 members, with a 10-member standing board that includes Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, 7 leaders of the Ministry of Public Security. Minister To Lam serves as Secretary of the committee.
Addressing the event, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong appreciated the efforts and achievements of the PSCPC over the past tenure of 2015-2020. He also congratulated the newly-appointed members of the PSCPC and hoped that they would do their best to gain more and greater merits.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that the PSCPC must always adhere to the principle of putting all working aspects and all levels of the Public Security Forces under the absolute, direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party. It should also thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, focusing on the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.
Given the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the PSCPC and the MPS to further direct the Public Security Forces at all levels to closely coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities in combating the pandemic.

For his part, Minister To Lam expressed his hope that the PSCPC and the MPS will continue receiving support and direction from the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, as well as effective coordination from ministries, central agencies, and localities in performing their missions of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety as well as building up the Public Security Forces.
After the announcement ceremony, the PSCPC held the first meeting to discuss and adopt an action plan to carry out the resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the seventh congress of the Public Security Central Party Organization for 2020 - 2025. The committee also reviewed the Public Security Forces’ task performances in the first six months of 2021, craft working orientations for the last half of the year, and looked into some other important issues.
