Precious blood donation saves lives

Public security forces of Ea Kar district, Dak Lak commended and praised various officers for their timely and invaluable donation of blood, helping to save 2 people.

According to local authorities, on June 13th, after giving birth to her son Be Dinh Long, Ly Thi Chuc (30) suffered metrorrhagia. She was then transferred from the local health center to hospital of 333 area. She lived in 22 village, Cu Bong commune, Ea Kar, Dak Lak.

Unfortunately, she bled too much and passed out due to long distance. Her blood pressure and pulse down to zero. She was supposed to not overcome without instant supply of blood and surgery. The blood bank of the hospital, unluckily, happened to fall short of her blood type A and her family members did not have the same blood type. No efficient supply of blood, no surgery.

In such emergency, Director of 333 Hospital, Pham Van Dan called Colonel Tran Duy Truong, head of the district public security forces, for help.

Officers of the public security forces are long known for their willingness to donate blood.

The Ea Kar public security called 2 officers with the same blood type with the victim to ask for their help. Nguyen Van Duc – Officer of the Criminal Police Group - and Nguyen Thanh Tuan – Student of the People’s Police University, who were on their duty in Ea Sar, 20 km from the 333 Hospital, instantly went in for the blood donation.

Thanks to the help of Duc and Tuan, the patient was saved timely. She recovered gradually in the tears of happiness of everyone.

Her mother, Lam Thi Mot said in tears: “If it had not been for the timely help and donation of the police officers, I might have lost my beloved daughter, Nong – my grandchild – would have lost his mother on his birth”.

Chuc’s family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to leaders and officers of Ea Kar public security forces, especially Duc and Tuan.

Another case happened on September 9th when Luong Chi Trung (7), living in Ea Sar commune, Ea Kar, suffered thrombocytopenia (low platelet count).

The same situation happened to the little child when the blood bank run short of the A type.

After receiving a call for help, Ea Kar public security office assigned Nguyen Van Duc and other officers of the same blood type, including Nguyen Dinh Loi, Nguyen Huu Thinh, Nguyen Huu Thinh, Nguyen Van Co and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy to give blood.

Thanks to their help, Trung was out of death’s hands and recovered quickly. Luong Van On – his grandfather – burst into tears anytime he told this story.

In recent years, officers of public security forces of Ea Kar positively hail the voluntary blood donation, said Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dam Van The, Vice Head of the district public security office. The number of blood donation times are said to be around 4 or 5 or even over 10. Particularly commendable is Nguyen Thanh Phuong, who has given blood for 15 times.

It is expect that the voluntary movement will further develop in the future.
