Prison Management Police Department receives Second-Class Fatherland Protection Order

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended and delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of the Police Department of Prison, Correctional Institution and Juvenile Reformatory Management (November 7, 1950 – 2025) on the morning of November 3 in Hanoi.

At the ceremony, the Police Department of Prison, Correctional Institution and Juvenile Reformatory Management was conferred the Second-Class Fatherland Protection Order by the State President in recognition of its outstanding achievements over the years.

Over the past 75 years of construction and development, generations of officers and enlistees of the force have always demonstrated absolute loyalty to the Party, the State and the People, steadfastly following the leadership and direction of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, overcoming difficulties and hardships to successfully fulfill every mission assigned by the Party and the State.

The Department has effectively implemented the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies regarding the execution of criminal sentences and the management and rehabilitation of individuals in correctional institutions and juvenile reformatories.

The force has also maintained absolute security and safety of all detention and correctional facilities, even under challenging conditions such as war, natural disasters and pandemics.

Over the past years, the force has succeeded in the management, re-education and rehabilitation of hundreds of thousands of inmates and reformatory students, many of whom have become law-abiding and productive citizens after having been released.

Under the authority of the State President, Minister Luong Tam Quang presented the Second-Class Fatherland Protection Order to the Police Department of Prison, Correctional Institution and Juvenile Reformatory Management in recognition of its outstanding achievements in training, task performance, force building as well as in safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety, thereby contributing significantly to the cause of national construction and defense.

In his remarks, Minister Luong Tam Quang, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, applauded the remarkable contributions and achievements made by generations of officers and enlistees of the force in the cause of safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and safety and building strong and modern Public Security Forces.

To meet the task requirements in the new period, the Minister urged the department to continue building a clean, strong, regular, elite and modern force, further improve the legal framework for criminal sentence enforcement, and continuously standardize procedures for the management and correction of inmates and reformatory students in accordance with the law.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of enhance digital transformation and the application of advanced technologies, big data and artificial intelligence in prison management work, with a view to developing modern, humane and secure correctional facilities.
