Provinces of Vietnam and Laos promote cooperation in border security

PSNews – The Provincial Police of Quang Binh on September 18 received a delegation of Provincial Security Department of Khammouan (Laos), led by its Director, Colonel Keodavong Xayyaseng.

Speaking at the reception, Major General Tu Hong Son, Director of the Quang Binh Police Department, congratulated the Lao delegation on the achievements gained by the Party, State and people of Laos in general and the armed forces of Khammouan province in particular. 

In the past few years, both sides have effectively cooperated in ensuring security and order under the guidelines of the two Parties and States, and within the framework cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and the Ministry of Security of Laos, as well as MoU between the police forces of the two provinces.

The bilateral cooperation has been promoted comprehensively, contributing to ensuring security and order along the shared borderline and fostering traditional relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two sides signed a MoU to promote cooperation in ensuring security and order. On this occasion, the Provincial Police Department of Quang Binh also presented 50 million VND to the security forces of Khammouan, suffering great losses in the recent flooding.
