The host delegation was led by Vice Director of Son La Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Dinh Cong Thanh.

At the meeting, a representative from the Son La Provincial Police Department briefed the delegates on the situations related to security and order, border security in the province over the past time.

Particularly, the provincial police force had investigated 1,465 criminal cases, arrested over 3,000 people involved, as well as over 3,400 drug-related cases and over 4,300 individuals involved, seized 130 kg of heroin, 34 kg of marijuana, one million pills of synthetic drugs since 2020. They also implemented various crime prevention and combat plans, coordinated with police forces of Laos’ northern provinces.

The security and order situation has been maintained, facilitating the lives of the people. Drug-related crimes, however, saw complicated developments, while dangerous criminals have been identified and neutralized.

Representatives from the two provincial police departments discussed ways to promote their ties in the time to come, focusing on information exchange, coordination in key areas of political security issues.
