PRRD rolls out new plans for 2021

PSNews - The Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory (PRRD) held a conference on December 10 to roll out the sector’s working plans for the year of 2021.

Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the conference with the participation of leaders from various units under the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuracy. Lieutenant General Le Minh Hung, Director of the PRRD, chaired the event. 

According to reports at the event, the Police Force of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory successfully protected prisoners and detainees from the coronavirus pandemic, actively responded to natural calamities, and ensured absolute safety, order and security for detention camps. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung applauded the efforts of the PRRD force in overcoming all difficulties and fulfilling their duties, particularly in the context of the pandemic and continuous natural disasters.

He also urged them to have practical plans to enhance the efficiency of prisoner management.

The force also should mobilize and encourage prisoners to take part in the national security protection movement as well as crime prevention and combat. They should also organize vocational training courses for prisoners and maintain good relations with local authorities and people to ensure security and order in the area where their unit based.

On this occasion, under the authority of the State President, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung presented the third-class Fatherland Defense Order to Cay Cay Prison (based in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh), awarded the Certificates of Merit presented by the Prime Minister to former leaders of the PRRD. Additionally, various outstanding individuals and teams were honored at the event.
