PSA won best title in English Olympiad

PSNews-Students of the People’s Security Academy (PSA) won the first prize at the English Olympiad of the North Region, and will join the National Final Round in June.

The 2017 English Olympiad for students of Northern universities and colleges was held at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi on May 24, witnessing  the 6 participating teams, namely the PSA, Academy of Finance, University of Commerce, Hanoi University of Education, University of Business and Technology, and Vietnam Maritime University, competing for the representative of the Northern universities and colleges to participate in the National Final Round.

To enter the final round of the Northern region, the 6 teams had defeated hundreds of teams of other Northern universities and colleges. With the theme “Vietnamese students: Creativity, broaden vision, integration into the world”, the Olympiad focused on general knowledge of culture, geography and history of the country, as well as Vietnam’s socio-economic situation in the current period.

In addition, participating students at the contest also had opportunity to exchange knowledge and learn more about the United Nations, international organizations, ASEAN Community, Vietnam’s policies on international integration, globalization and multilateralization, and some prominent features of our country today. Additionally, the Olympiad also tested the contestants’ knowledge of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Students’ Association as well as programs and movements of youths and students across the country.

The English team of the PSA, with their talent, creativity and firm stance beat the Maritime University team in tense debates in English to become the representative of the North to compete in the national finale in June.
