PSF eliminate over 3,000 criminal gangs in 2020

According to Minister To Lam, the Public Security Forces (PSF) investigated over 40,000 law violations related to social order, and eliminated 3,070 criminal gangs. They also attacked black credit networks, but this type of crime has now relied on the internet, causing more difficulties to the police, Minister To Lam said.

The PSF also accelerated the investigation of economic wrongdoings and corruption cases, while detecting and seriously handling persons taking advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to gain illegal economic benefits.

Notably, the police forces nationwide handled nearly 4 million of traffic law violations, some 2,300 violations of regulations on fire prevention and fighting, and over 71,000 violations of regulations related to conditional business.

The deployment of professional policemen to communes have been completed, contributing to ensuring security and order at the grassroots levels.

Minister To Lam also briefed deputies on 9 key measures that the PSF will take to ensure security and order in 2021. Accordingly, the PSF shall focus on implementing all resolutions of the Party Central Committee and the National Assembly on ensuring security and order, crime prevention and control; step up the building of legal institutions, mechanisms and policies related to prevention and fight against crimes and law violations.

The PSF will also take effective measures to protect national security, defeat all conspiracies and sabotage activities by hostile and reactionary forces; ensure absolute safety for major national events, especially the 13th National Congress of the Party as well the elections of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
