PSNews – The Public Security Newspaper in collaboration with MBBank, local authorities and philanthropists on July 21 handed over 1.4 billion VND to the Gratitude Fund of Duy Nghia commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, to build 20 houses of gratitude for policy beneficiary families.

The event took place on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) during a meeting held by the Hoi An and Duy Xuyen authorities, with revolution contributors, who used to serve in the former Duy Nghia base during the war against US invaders.

According to Chairman of the Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee Nguyen Tan Nam, the commune is home to 260 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; nearly 1,100 martyrs, including 3 martyrs conferred the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, and more than 400 wounded and sick veterans, and thousands of revolution families.

Over the past years, the authorities of Quang Nam province, Duy Xuyen district and Duy Nghia commune always pay attention to supporting policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors. But some of policy beneficiary families still face many difficulties.

Knowing the local situation, the Public Security Newspaper mobilized MBBank, organizations and philanthropists to raise fund to support the local policy beneficiaries. As a result, 1.4 billion VND was raised and transferred to the gratitude fund of Duy Nghia commune to build 20 gratitude houses for local policy beneficiary families.

The meaningful activity was highly appreciated by local authorities and the people.

The support will hopefully ease difficulties faced by local Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, martyrs’ families and revolution contributors who had had numerous sufferings during the war.
