PSNews reporters win prize at National Press Awards on Traffic Safety

PSNews - The organising board handed over 32 prizes including two first, five second, ten third, and 15 consolation prizes to individuals and three collective prizes to three press agencies. A group of reporters from the Public Security Newspaper received a second prize with article: " Preventing drunk driving - from behavior to legal".

The National Committee for Traffic Safety on June 17 held a ceremony to honor reporters with outstanding works of the 2019 National Press Awards on Traffic Safety.

Attending the ceremony were the Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The, Deputy President of the National Committee for Traffic Safety Khuat Viet Hung and representatives of ministries, sectors, and localities.

At the ceremony, Khuat Viet Hung, Deputy President of the National Committee for Traffic Safety informed, the 2019 National Press Awards on Traffic Safety received 954 entries from 50 press agencies nationwide.

The organising board handed over 32 prizes including two first, five second, ten third, and 15 consolation prizes to individuals and three collective prizes to three press agencies. A group of reporters from the Public Security Newspaper received a second prize with article: " Preventing drunk driving - from behavior to legal".

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh highly appreciated and praised contributions of press agencies and reporters to the national efforts to reducing traffic accidents.

He undercored that the winning articles have vividly reflected hot issues in the transport sector and contributed to raising awareness of traffic participants. The Standing Deputy Prime Minister urged reporters to pay more attention in popularizing causes of traffic accidents and proposing appropriate policies for management agencies.

On this occasion, the National Committee for Traffic Safety launched the 2020 National Press Awards on Traffic Safety under the theme of “When drink alcohol, do not drive".

The annual press awards have been organized since 2012, aiming to improve the effectiveness of information dissemination on traffic safety and to raise people’s awareness of and enhance the local authorities’ role in ensuring traffic order and safety.
