Public Security Deputy Ministers encourage youths to join military and police

Deputy Ministers of Public Security and Members of the Party Central Committee, Major General Le Tan Toi and Major General Le Quoc Hung attended events in some southern areas to see off young people to join the military and police.

A ceremony took place on March 3 in Ho Chi Minh City to see off 5,000 young people to join the military and police, including 828 to become police rookies.

The event, which was held in District 5, saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo Member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Members of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of National Defence, and Major General Le Tan Toi.

After the event in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi participated in a ceremony in Long An in which the local authorities transferred 250 youths to police units.

On the same day, Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended an event to see off young people in Dong Nai to do national service.

This year, about 300 out of some 3,000 enlistees will join the police.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung encouraged and asked all new recruits to strictly follow the regulations of the units and successfully fulfil all given tasks.

After the ceremony, the deputy minister had a meeting with the provincial police of Dong Nai.
