Public Security Forces asked to enhance operations to ensure safety and order

PSNews – Minister of Public Security To Lam sent a dispatch to heads of General Departments, the High Commands, agencies and units under the Ministry; Directorates of the Provincial and Municipal Police and Fire Prevention and Fighting Departments, asking them to direct all forces to enhance their operations to ensure safety and order during the upcoming holidays.

The upcoming holidays include Hùng Kings' Death Anniversary, 43rd Anniversary of South Vietnam Liberation Day and Reunification Day, and the International Labor Day.

The dispatch reads:

Over the past time, police units at all levels have implemented the directions of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security seriously, effectively and drastically to ensure security and order during the Traditional Lunar New Year Festival and the Spring Festivals in localities. Many units and individuals have promoted the good traditions of the People's Public Security Forces and made many excellent victories applauded by the public opinion.

The leaders of the Ministry recognized, appreciated and praised the efforts and achievements of all cadres and soldiers of the entire Public Security Forces.

The Minister of Public Security asked all police units to strictly follow dispatches and directions issued by the higher levels and promote their operations to ensure security and order during the upcoming holidays.

The Minister also urged public security units to fulfill several key tasks, including:

To concentrate on protecting security and order for key economic, security and defense projects, headquarters of State agencies and police at all levels while ensuring the normal operation of all organizations and agencies; strengthening exit - entry management and residence management, especially management of entry and residence of foreigners; detecting, neutralizing acts of infiltration, sabotage of reactionary and terrorist forces.

To improve the effectiveness of crime prevention solutions, and at the same time conduct attacks and raids on criminals following plans specializing in specific crimes, routes and geographical areas; to focus on prevention and fight against criminal gangs, dangerous criminals, criminals with weapons and explosive devices, crimes against on-duty officials, drugs-related crimes, murder, robbery, cyber-crime, acts of phishing on the internet, crimes of manufacturing and trading fake medicines; To coordinate with competent agencies to control transportation trade of weapons and explosives and mobilize people to voluntarily surrender weapons and explosives to authorities.

Police units at all levels should promote operations to ensure traffic safety and order.

Regarding fire prevention and fighting, the Minister of public security ordered the relevant units to promote dissemination of fire prevention and fighting regulations and skills; promote inspection of fire safety in fire-prone establishments, including apartment buildings, malls, hotels... and prepare forces and means for possible emergencies.

All police units should raise the public awareness of plots and tricks of hostile and reactionary forces and criminals.

Meanwhile, the public security press and media should swiftly report news on achievements of the police forces in preventing and combating criminals as well as stories about outstanding examples in the police forces.
