Public Security Forces set to focus on economic and corruption cases

The Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of Public Security held a conference on January 8 to review the self-criticism and criticism in 2017 of the Standing Committee, its members and all leaders of the Ministry of Public Security , under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security.

After the opening speech made by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong delivered the overall report on reviewing the leadership and direction in 2017  of the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security.

The participants also discussed and assessed the report, underscored the shortcomings and  proposed solutions to the remaining issues in the coming time.

In his speech, General Lam affirmed that the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of Public Security was a very united team with strong, consistent political will. 

In 2017, the committee promoted its collective minds in leading the public security forces, strictly observed the Political Credo and regulations of the Party, and maintained the absolute and direct leadership over all activities and affairs of the public security forces.

Specifically, the committee thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented the guidelines of the Party, pocilies and laws of the State on ensuring national security, social order and safety, and promoted force building, contributing to fulfilling all assignments outlined by the Central Party Committee of Public Security in the 2017 task plan.

In addition, the committee was proactive in directing the forces and drawing up plans to ensure the absolute safety for leaders of the Party, the State and the Government as well as important political, social and cultural events of the countries, especially the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Danang, rasing the contry’s status and position in the international area.

In 2018, the committee should drastically direct the forces in collaboration with related Central agencies to speed up the progress of investigation, prosecution and adjudication of serious economic and corruption cases; build strong and elite public security forces in politics, ideology and morality; take the lead in implementing Resolutions of the Party.
