Public Security Forces urged to actively brace for tropical depression

The Office of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on October 9 sent a dispatch, requesting the police forces to proactively prepare efforts and assets, and response plans for the tropical depression in the East Sea.

The Office of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on October 9 sent a dispatch to the Steering Committees for Climate Change, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and Search and Rescue under provincial/municipal police departments of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan and the Central Highlands, and the High Command of Mobile Police, the Department of Traffic Police, the Department of Fire Police and others relevant units, requesting the police forces to proactively prepare efforts and assets, and response plans for the tropical depression in the East Sea.

To actively and effectively respond to possible heavy rains, floods and landslides, the Ministry of Public Security asks all above mentioned units to:

Seriously implement directions of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, and the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue, the MPS as well as of local authorities in response to dangerous weather phenomena.

Closely monitor developments of the dangerous weather phenomena via the mass media to have appropriate response plans to the situations.

Promote dissemination of information about activities of police forces in preparation to respond to the dangerous weather phenomena and in support of the people. Particularly, ensure safety for officers and soldiers on duty; deploy all available means and forces to respond to any situations.
