Hanoi police take the lead in preventing and combating COVID-19

The Municipal Police Department of Hanoi on August 17 launched an emulation movement to join national anti-COVID-19 efforts while ensuring security and order, social safety in the city.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To spoke highly of the preparation and action plan of the Municipal Police Department of Hanoi for the movement as well as the city police’s efforts and achievements in preventing and fighting the pandemic, ensuring security and order over the past time.

The municipal police should conduct comprehensive research on COVID-19 and identify the causes, consequences of the pandemic as well as actively apply scientific advances, technologies and effective approaches of other localities and foreign countries to prevent and control the pandemic.

The police forces of Hanoi should strictly follow the guidance of the Central Party Committee, the Government, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating the pandemic. They should also promote information dissemination on the pandemic while strictly handling misinformation.

The municipal police were asked to take drastic measures and join common efforts to maintain the city’s “safe zones” while each police officer should serve as a COVID-19 fighter, and each police unit should be a fortress in the fight against the pandemic. All local police agencies and units should be prepared and ready to deploy forces and means to sustain and expand the “safe zones”. Police officers should be ready to donate their blood for medical use.

At the event, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To and local police officers joined a blood donation drive held by the Municipal Police Department of Hanoi.
