Hanoi police well perform dual-task in COVID-19 period

PSNews – The Hanoi Municipal Police Department on August 10 held a teleconference connecting the headquarters with its subordinate units to review the work of COVID-19 prevention and control during the social distancing period in the city.

According to the reports at the meeting, in implementing Directive No.17 of the Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee on the implementation of social distancing to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic in the city, over the last 17 days, the local police have strictly managed and controlled people and vehicles’ entry into and exit from the city.

In fact, the local police forces detected and handled a numbers of vehicles that went on the “green line” through medical checkpoints, had no appropriate documents.

Over the past two weeks, the Hanoi Police Department has fined 12,430 cases a total fine of over 18 billion VND for their violation of the COVID-19 regulations as well as 87 business establishments a total fine of 918.5 million VND for doing non-essential business during social distancing.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, praised the results and achievements of the local police force in fulfilling the “dual task” of combating the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring absolute security, safety and social order in the city.

Amidst the complicated development of the pandemic, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung asked leadership of all local police agencies and units to be proactive, creative and flexible in implementing measures and plans to ensure security and order and combat the pandemic.

Director of the Hanoi Police Department also requested all local police units to actively advise local authorities to direct the implementation of the community-based COVID-19 prevention teams, extend “green zone” or COVID-19 free are, and encourage local people to report cases of violating pandemic’s regulations.
