Public security health workers join southern provinces’ efforts to fight COVID-19

PSNews – A public security health mission on August 11 left Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and other southern localities in support of their efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

 46 doctors and nurses from the Health Department, the 198 Hospital and the Hospital of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) joined the mission.

Speaking before their departure, Senior Colonel Pham Thi Lan Anh, Director of the Health Department under the MPS and Senior Colonel Hoang Thanh Tuyen, Director of the 198 Hospital praised the voluntary spirit of the doctors and nurses who dare dangers to join hands with the authorities and people of southern localities in the fight against COVID-19.

Lieutenant Vu Bich Hang, a doctor of the 198 Hospital said that, she had voluntarily registered to assist the anti-pandemic fight in Bac Giang but had not been selected. She feels very happy when being selected this time to join the mission.

 The Health Department provides necessary equipment for the public security health mission.

 Before undertaking missions at the field hospital, health workers had all taken tests for COVID-19 and participated in a brief training course.

 According to doctor Phung Thi Hai Van, head of the Hospital of Traditional Medicine's team, the hospital has sent 15 health workers to join the mission this time. They are all determined to fulfill all assigned tasks.

Doctor Do Chi Hieu, a member of the 198 Hospital's team said that, he and his members vowed to do their utmost and join hands with the southern local efforts to stamp out the disease.

 Earlier, on August 10, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Steering Committee for Pandemic Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) bid farewell to a medical mission of the MPS before they set off to HCMC and southern provinces.
