- Public Security Newspaper raises fund for victims in flash flood hit areas
The Ministry of Public Security held a teleconference to roll out the Law on the State Budget, the law-related documents and the anti-wastefulness programme within the public security forces, on August 10, at the terminals: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security.
The conference saw the participation of Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung and representatives of units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Finance.

Addressing the conference, Minister To Lam emphasized, "The Law on the State Budget which was approved by the 13th National Assembly in 2015 is very important in promoting renovation and completing legal framework for financial management, and improving the efficiency of mobilizing and using resources for rapid and sustainable development.
After this law was issued, the Ministry of Public Security instructed the Financial Department to closely cooperate with relevant units of the Ministry of Finance and relevant ministries as well as branches to compile legal documents in the field of security for the Government's approval.
In addition, to concretize and implement the Government's Action Program in practicing thrift and fighting wastefulness in the period 2016-2020, the Ministry of Public Security studied and published its own action program in the period 2016-2020
At the conference, representatives of the State Budget Department and the Financial Ministry introduced new articles of the State Budget Law 2015 to participants.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Financial Dinh Tien Dung affirmed, "The Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have paid special attention to the financial and budget management of the public security forces. Every year, the Minister of Public Security releases directives and launches practical action programme against wastefulness.
Therefore, the work of estimating, executing and finalizing the budget of the Ministry of Public Security is conducted in accordance with provisions of the law while meeting the requirements of public security forces’ missions in the current situation.
In the coming years, to effectively conduct the financial and budget management within the public security forces, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam asked all public security units to thoroughly grasp and strictly observe the Law on the State Budget as well as its related documents.
Additionally, at the conference, in the spirit of "The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves", Minister To Lam launched a fundraising program to support disaster victims in Northern mountainous provinces. The total proceeds reached over VND1.5 billion.
