Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security attended and made a keynote speech at the seminar.
The event also saw the participation of various leaders of the MPS and relevant Central agencies and localities.
Addressing the workshop, Minister To Lam stated that harmonizing economic development with national defense, security and foreign affairs is one of the Party's major viewpoints that guides the cause of national construction and protection. This view is based on the tradition of building and defending the nation, which has been supplemented and developed by the Party through its congresses.
Minister To Lam emphasized that over the past years, under the leadership of the Party, and management and administration of the State, implementation of socio-economic development combined with defense, security and foreign affairs has witnessed positive developments in both thinking and practice, which has therefore attained various important achievements.
The increasingly strong combination has contributed to improving the country's strength and status, helped the economy overcome many difficulties and challenges, and maintained a relatively high growth rate for many years.
However, the combination still faces various limitations.
Over 60 written reports were also sent to the Organizing Board. They mainly discussed scientific and practical bases, and clarified the Party's viewpoints on combining the tasks of maintaining security and order with defense, foreign affairs and economic, cultural and social development.
