Public Security Newspaper presents gifts to poor people in Dak Nong

PSNews – The Public Security Newspaper (PSNews) on January 8 coordinated with Hai Nam Company and the Dak Nong Provincial Police to present 100 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor families and policy beneficiaries in Truong Xuan commune, Dak Song district, Dak Nong.

Truong Xuan, home to 3,361 households with 13, 710 people, faces various difficulties. Over one third of the population is of ethnic minority groups while over 20% of the families in the commune are rated as poor and nearly poor levels.

Over the past few years, thanks to the attention and support from the authorities, Truong Xuan has changed positively, and lives of local people have been improved. However, a number of households in the commune still face various difficulties and need supports from the community.

Speaking at the gift granting event, Senior Colonel Tran Thanh Phong, Vice Chief Editor of the PSNews, said that the PSNews and donors’ visit and present gifts to poor people and policy beneficiaries in a hope that they would have a warmer and happier Lunar New Year.

The gifts may not be significant in value, but demonstrate the sentiment and support of the authorities at all levels as well as the Public Security Forces for the poor people to overcome their difficulties and poverty.
