"Public Security Officer's Images" Art Festival closes

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism and the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association, held the closing ceremony of the 4th National Theater and Performing Arts Festival themed "Public Security Officer’s Image" on the evening of August 2 at the Au Co Cultural and Arts Center (Hanoi).

The ceremony saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association, among other delegates from ministries and Central-level agencies.

The 4th National Theater and Performing Arts Festival themed "People's Public Security Officer’s Images" was co-organized by the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association from July 16 to August 2 at the Au Co Cultural and Arts Center.

The Festival attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 actors from 27 theaters and professional art troupes nationwide with 33 plays and Vietnamese traditional performances featuring the images of public security officers and soldiers in fighting crimes and protecting national security.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded seven gold medals to the outstanding performances and plays, namely “Nhân danh công lý” (In the name of justice) by Tran Huu Trang “Cai Luong” Theater, “Tái sinh” (Rebirth) by Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, “Vẫn sống” (Still alive) by the People's Public Security Theater, “Vụ án Am bột mọc” (The case of Bot Moc Pagoda) by Nghe An Provincial Center of Folk Heritages, “Ngày trở về” (Day of Return) by the Military “Cheo” Theater; “Tình bạn và Công lý” (Friendship and Justice) by Le Ngoc Theater; “Kẻ trộm” (The thief) by Hanoi Drama Theater.  

Meanwhile, nine silver medals were granted to 16 other outstanding plays and many other awards were presented to excellent actors, authors, directors, musicians, painters from the participating theaters and art troupes.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Theater Artists’ Association for their assistance in organizing the festival. He also thanked the art-loving audiences who have supported the festival and the artists.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh asked the theaters and art troupes to continue performing the prize-wining plays for people and public officers and soldiers across the country.

He also urged the theaters and art troupes to continue to create and perform new plays to beautify the images of the Public Security Forces.
