Public security press agencies asked to continuously renovate themselves

PSNews - At the meeting, delegates highlighted positive results as well as limitations with the aim of promoting stable development of the public security press sector. 

The General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting of the public security press agencies on June 3, in Da Nang. Lieutenant General Le Van De – Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics chaired the event.

In the past time, press agencies of public security forces have well performed their information work in line with the Party’s orientation. Particularly, they disseminated information about Resolution 4 of the 12th Party Central Committee and Directive No.05 of the Politburo, as well as various mobilizations of the Public Security Forces.

Additionally, press agencies of public security focused on articles reflecting prevention and fight against crimes, and struggling against wrong viewpoints. 

At the meeting, delegates highlighted positive results as well as limitations with the aim of promoting stable development of the public security press sector.

Major General Mai Van Ha - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, Director of the Public Security Center for Film – Radio - Television stated that, the public security press agencies should regularly renovate themselves and their publications in order to secure a solid position in readers' hearts.

Representatives of the Da Nang Municipal Public Security Newspaper requested public security press agencies to share information with one another to enhance timeliness, especially in struggle against reactionary forces under the banner of religious freedom.

Senior Colonel Tran Kim Tham – Deputy Editor in Chief of the Public Security Newspaper proposed that the Ministry of Public Security should issue regulations articulating the responsibility of public security agencies and units for providing information for public security press agencies to create favorable conditions for press activities, helping them meet the requirements of political tasks in the new period.

The Editor in Chief of the Nghe An Provincial Public Security Newspaper mentioned difficulties faced with public security press agencies, including the difficulty to attract high-quality editors and reporters to public security press agencies.

Accepting proposals and recommendations made by participating delegates, Lieutenant General Le Van De highly appreciated the significance of monthly meetings of public security press agencies, which help leaders of the General Department of Politics understand and provide appropriate solutions in time for core issues.

Lieutenant General Le Van De instructed public security press agencies to continuously report noticeable domestic and international activities, events, as well as hot topics relating to economy, culture, social order and security.

Besides, Lieutenant General Le Van De said that leaders of the general department will urge public security units to review regulations, and provide advice to leaders of the ministry so that the ministry could issue appropriate regulations facilitating press activities.
