Quang Binh police officers help locals mitigate flood consequences

PSNews - The Quang Binh Provincial Police has mobilized hundreds of troops and function vehicles over the past days to help flood-hit people in critical areas.

Due to heavy rains on October 30 and November 1, thousands of houses, dozens of roads and hectares of crops were submerged in the flood water. The losses were initially valued at hundreds of billions of Vietnamese dongs.

Against this backdrop, the Quang Binh Police dispatched hundreds of police officers and function vehicles to bring packages of dried food and bottled water to people in the flood-hit areas.

The mobilized officers and vehicles were organized to reach TuyenHoa, Le Thuy, QuangTrach districts and Ba Don town, delivering necessities to the current flood victims, who were still stuck in flooding.

Police officers came to each house to take people and belongings to safe areas, and also provided people with thousands packages of instant noodles and drinking water.

According to the weather forecast, floods may become more severe as the river water level is rising swiftly in Quang Binh. To ensure the safety of property and lives of people in flooding, all provincial police forces were asked to be ready to deploy efforts and assets when requested.

Regarding the flooding situation in the central region, the Prime Minister has issued an Official Dispatch No. 1925/CD-TTg requiring ministries, Provincial People’s Committees and the relevant agencies to proactively respond to floods and rains.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Hydrology Forecast last weekend warned central provinces of flood risks due to heavy rains. According to the centre, water in all the rivers in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, QuangBinh, Quang Tri and ThuaThien-Hue will reach an alarmingly high level early this week.
