The event has drawn some 200 delegates from APEC member economies, tourism enterprises and experts from international organizations related to tourism.
On the sidelines of the meeting, other events also took place, including photo exhibition, tours around Ha Long Bay and to the Quang Ninh Museum.
This is seen as an important political event, a special foreign relations activity of Vietnam and Quang Ninh province.
As a result, the Provincial Police of Quang Ninh has deployed various professional measures and mobilized its maximum forces and means to maintain security and safety for the events.
The Quang Ninh Provincial Police has already drawn up plans to ensure absolute security and order for the dialogue.
The local police force has deployed maximum efforts and assets to protect delegates to the event.
The Quang Ninh Provincial Police in cooperation with the APEC Security Subcommittee has also checked and verified expertise, health and political stance of more than 400 officials and workers directly serving the event, and implemented special security plans in the meeting places, travelling routes and residential places of delegates.
The Provincial Police also cooperated with the Organizing Board, VNAT, subcommittees of APEC 2017, related local departments and agencies in conducting two surveys on facilities, techniques, security and order conditions and travelling routes of delegates to map out suitable protection plans.
The police force in charge of protecting key areas, where the dialogue is scheduled, is supposed to closely monitor the area, regularly check hotels and motels, to well manage information and the locality to prevent unfriendly individuals and forces from undermining security and order.
The police units are also supposed to frequently remind owners of accommodation businesses to raise their awareness of security and cooperate with police forces to ensure security and order in the area.
With the concrete plans and efforts of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, the High Level Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Tourism held in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province will surely be successful, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam's tourism to international friends.
