Rate of criminal cases reduces in first half of 2021

The Criminal Police Department (CPD) under the Ministry of Public Security held a conference on June 25 to review the criminal police force’s task performance in the first half of 2021.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

According to reports at the conference, the CPD has guided the nationwide criminal police force to closely follow the directives of the Prime Minister and directions of the ministry on crime prevention and combat, and ensuring security and safety for the National Party Congress and the General Election.

The force also played an important role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.  

In the first 5 months of 2021, the police force recorded 18,451 criminal cases, a slight decline compared with the same period last year.

Addressing at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements and victories of the CPD and the whole criminal police force in the first half of 2021.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that there should be zero tolerance to organized crimes in all areas and sectors.

The deputy minister also recognized the difficulties, hardship and sacrifice faced by the criminal police force, and urged the leadership of the units to praise outstanding officers and disseminate bravery and examples of mobile police officers and soldiers.
