On the morning of February 9 in Hanoi, the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper held a conference to review its work in 2025 and roll out its work program for 2026.

Major General Do Trieu Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director General of the Department of Information and Communications (DIC) of under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), attended and delivered keynote remarks at the conference.

The conference was chaired by Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the DIC and Editor-in-Chief of the CAND Newspaper, with the participation of leaders of functional units, the Editorial Board, as well as reporters and editing staff of the newspaper.

In 2025, the Party Committee and Editorial Board of the CAND Newspaper focused on leading the newspaper’s staff to excelently fulfill all assigned political tasks. All officers, Party members, reporters and editing staff demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, unity and firm political stance, and successfully completed their assignements.

During 2025, the newspaper closely followed and extensively covered activities of Party and State leaders as well as of leaders of the MPS, particularly focused on reflecting the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 12 on building truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People’s Public Security Forces.

It also had in-depth articles on Party building and rectification work, the streamlining of the governmental organization at all levels, digital transformation, administrative reform, crime prevention and suppression, fire prevention and fighting, and the nationwide movement “For national security.”

On the occasion of major events and anniversaries of the nation and the People’s Public Security Forces, the CAND Newspaper published hundreds of informative articles and features in special columns. Further, reporters of the newspaper promptly reflected efforts in natural disaster relief, search and rescue operations, and social welfare activities across the country.

The newspaper maintained and renewed its major columns and special sections with a view to attracting more readers and meeting their increasing need for information. Meanwhile, The newspaper’s online editions are drawing much attention of readers. Thanks to its great effort, the CAND Newspaper has continuously affirmed its standing and credibility in the national press system.

Alongside its professional mission, the newspaper actively engaged in social welfare and charitable activities, spending billions of Vietnamese dong assisting disadvantaged families and communities in the past year, which has helped promote the fine image of the People’s Public Security Forces in society.

In his remarks, Major General Do Trieu Phong praised the CAND Newspaper for its enormous achievements in 2025, especially its good performance in the context of numerous major events and complex natural disasters. In fact, the newspaper’s communication and information work that created a positive impact on society was highly valued by the leadership of the MPS.

In 2026, which is seen as a pivotal year as it marks the beginning of a new term of the Party organizations of all levels, Major General Do Trieu Phong called on all officers and workers of the CAND Newspaper to continue renewing their mindsets, enhance the quality of the newspaper’s communication and information, and proactively carry out digital transformation and the evolving media economy. He pointed out several “bottlenecks” that need to be addressed. These include the newspapers’ staff’s mindset on covering news, writing articles and publication, renovating its organizational structure, its operational processes, upgrading data and technology, devloping its human resources, and improving their digital skills.

Accordingly, he outlined key strategic directions: renewing thinking and repositioning newspaper; restructuring the organization toward a modern convergent newsroom model; fundamentally improving production processes; using data and technology as core development pillars; enhancing capacity for public opinion analysis and guidance; innovating content and presentation with readers at the center; and developing a strong digital journalism workforce.

On behalf of the Editorial Board, Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh acknowledged and fully embraced the guidance, affirming that the CAND Newspaper would promptly translate these directions into concrete actions in its 2026 work program, implementing them decisively and effectively with a spirit of proactiveness, innovation, and high responsibility, striving to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks.
