Director of the Department of Homeland Security Major General Pham Ngoc Viet, authorized by the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, received a delegation of prestigious persons from ethnic minority groups in Lai Chau province on their visit to the Ministry of Public Security, on November 22, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, a representative of the ethnic minority delegation reported on his achievements and shared his experience in mobilizing the masses to participate in ensuring security and order and building the movement “All people protecting national security,” saying that he will continue to promote the role of a reputable person, set an example in safeguarding security and order in the locality.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Pham Ngoc Viet congratulated the great achievements of prestigious persons in Lai Chau province, stressing that they had made an important contribution to the cause of national construction and defense as well as promoting socio-economic development and ensuring security and order in their localities.

Over the past time, the Public Security Party Central Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security have coordinated with ministries, agencies, branches and provincial Party committees and people's committees of provinces to boost socio-economic development and ensure order and security. 

In particular, the Minister of Public Security directed its relevant agencies in collaboration local police to repair and build homes for nearly 10,000 poor households, policy families and hostels of boarding schools for students. 

In 2019 only, 921 new houses were built for the poor in Muong Te district, Lai Chau province with a total amount of VND 50 billion.
