Research projects contribute significantly to task accomplishment of public security forces

PSNews – Over the past 10 years, the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has approved thousands of scientific research projects, of which many have been successfully applied in the reality, effectively serving public security activities. 

Major General, Dr. Le Quoc Trung, Director of the Department of Scientific, Technological and Environmental Management stated that the Department of Scientific, Technological and Environmental Management under the General Department of Logistics and Techniques, the MPS, functions as an assistant to the General Director in managing scientific, technological and environmental affairs of the public security forces.

During 10 years implementing the strategy to develop research on public security science, technology and environment, Major General, Dr. Le Quoc Trung and other leaders of the department thoroughly popularized the MPS’s viewpoints on scientific and technological work to all staff.

The department boosted scientific and technological research in a profound manner, and focused on human resources development while actively summarizing lessons and experiences. In addition, the department improved the efficiency of anti-corruption and promoted scientific research across the public security forces.

Remarkably, the department gave good advice to the higher level leadership in drawing the annual plan on scientific and technological activities of the public security forces as well as in crafting the strategy to development science, techniques and technology in the 2005 – 2015 period; and drafting the framework plan for scientific and technological activities in the 2011 – 2015 period and lists of other State-level research projects.

The Department of Scientific, Technological and Environmental Management have taken charge of over 30 State – level scientific research projects, 800 ministry-level scientific research projects; 1,900 basic-level scientific research projects and many other research reports.

Many of the research projects have provided good solutions to practical issues in public security work or have successfully been applied in practice, helping public security units successfully fulfill their tasks.

On this occasion, the Department of Scientific, Technological and Environmental Management was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister.
