Security Department of Southwest Region deploys new working plan for 2018

PSNews – The Security Department of Southwest Region on January 23 organized a conference to review its task performance of 2017 and deploy its new working plan for 2018.

Major General Nguyen Minh Kha, Vice Director of the Security General Department (under the Ministry of Public Security – MPS) attended the conference.

Major General Bui Quang Hai, Director of the Security Department of Southwest Region emphasized the strategic importance of the region in political, economic and social, security and defence terms while it is home to various ethnic groups and religions.

Hostile forces frequently implement their various conspiracies and activities, based on their Peaceful Evolution” strategy and turbulence and overturn program, with the aim of undermining the Vietnamese revolution. The region also sees complicated situations of criminal activities, particularly organized crime, women and children trafficking, economic crime, trade fraud and smuggling.

In response to these situations, the Security Department of Southwest Region enhanced effective coordination with local police agencies and units, and took advantage of people’s supports to actively prevent and neutralize sabotage activities of hostile forces.

Major General Nguyen Minh Kha praised the achievements gained by the regional security department in the past time and encouraged it to strive to fulfill their tasks and gain more results in the time to come.
