Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh appointed as Central Theoretical Council’s vice chairman

A decision of the Politburo on personnel issue of the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council was announced in Hanoi on August 6.

The event saw the presence of Politburo Member Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council of the term 2021-2026 and President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, announced the Politburo’s decision on personnel of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Notably, among other member, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Minister of Public Security, was appointed as the full-time Vice Chairman of the Council for the term 2021 - 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, on behalf of the Politburo, handed the decisions to the newly appointed members of the Council.

He also urged the Council to further improve the quality of summarization of practices of Party work and theoretical research on the basis of grasping and creatively applying the dialectical materialist methodology of Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought while serving as a high-quality political theory think-tank, advising the Party Central Committee, Politburo and Secretariat to lead the national construction and defense.
