Sharing difficulties with victims of natural disaster in Bac Tra My

PSNews – A delegation led by Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Commission, on November 19, visited and presented gifts to households and people affected by recent landslides and floods in Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province.

The delegation visited 2 households badly affected in the landslides in Tra My town and Tra Giang commune, and presented 16 gifts to families with dead or injured victims or badly-damaged houses in the recent floods in Bac Tra My district.

At the working session with the Bac Tra My District People’s Committee, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh extended sincere condolences and sympathy of the leaders of the Party and State to the families whose relatives had died in the floods triggering serious landslides. He also asked the local authorities of Bac Tra My to implement measures to help local residents soon overcome the consequences and stabilize life and production.

Chinh emphasized that the local authorities should conduct careful surveys and checks of locations of high risks of landslides to relocate residents to safer places.

Tran Anh Tuan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Tra My said, the recent floods and landslides as a result of typhoon No.12, killed 12, injured 9 people and ruined 152 houses. It is estimated that the total loss mounted to VND 114 billion.
