Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam pays a visit to MPS

PSNews – Major General Truong Van Thong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), on March 7 received Ms. Catherine Wong Siow Ping, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam.

At the reception, Major General Truong Van Thong expressed his delight at fine developments in the multi-faceted relations between Singapore and Vietnam in the pastime and appreciated the role of Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping. 

Additionally, the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and the Singaporean Ministry of Home Affairs has been enhanced. The latest visit of Singaporean Minister of Home Affairs, K. Shanmugam, and the signing of the extension of the Cooperation Agreement between the two parties has re-confirmed the mutual trust. This also serves as a premise to promote bilateral cooperation in the future.

Major General Truong Van Thong emphasized that the two sides could still expand their cooperation in other areas such as cyber security, drug prevention and combat, fire prevention and fight and rescue, and especially security industry.

Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping thanked the host for the kind reception and hoped that the relations between the MPS of Vietnam and Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs and other relevant agencies would reach more achievements.

The Singaporean Ambassador also vowed to make contributions to promoting the relations between the two countries.
