Son La police sign security cooperation deal with three Lao neighboring provinces

The Son La Provincial Police Department hosted a regular briefing with the three Lao provincial public security departments of Luang Prabang, Hua Phan and Bo Keo, on October 16. The meeting aimed to evaluate results of the coordination of the two sides in safeguarding border security in 2023 and drafted orientations for cooperation in 2024.

Regarding orientations for cooperation in the time to come, the Son La Provincial Police Department and the public security departments of the Lao three provinces agreed that they strengthen coordination in regularly grasping the border security situation and promptly exchange information about arising issues as well as sabotage plots and acts by hostile forces, which often make use of issues related to religions, democracy and human rights to disrupt security and border security, and damage the long-lasting friendship between the two nations.

In the spirit of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the Son La Provincial Police Department and the public security departments of the three Lao provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on security cooperation for 2024.
