Southern provincial police focusing efforts on disease control

PSNews - Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on July 13, chaired a video-meeting with the southern provincial police forces to discuss COVID-19 prevention and control.

In the southern region, the pandemic level varies in different localities, but the number of infections is sharply increasing. The pandemic is complicated particularly in 25 southern provinces from Binh Thuan southward, where economic centers and industrial zones are located.

At present, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Vung Tau are undergoing lockdown according to the Prime’s Directive No.16.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung was appointed as the Commander of the Front Command under the Ministry of Public Security to lead the 25 southern provinces’ police units and functional agencies to implement comprehensive measures in order to control the disease. The key objective is to handle the pandemic as soon as possible in the region.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung asked the local police to regularly send daily reports on the local disease situation to the Front Command.

In case of urgent scenarios, leaders of the agencies and units must report on the Front Command as quickly as possible. Local police leaders will take responsibility for any infection case in their units.
