Southwestern police to ensure absolute security for upcoming election

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security (MPS) and Head of the Subcommittee on Security and Order for the election of the 15th National Assembly (NA) and the People’s Councils (PC) at all level for the 2021 – 2026 term chaired a video meeting with the 11 police departments of Southwestern provinces, on May 7th.

At the meeting, representatives of the 11 provincial police departments briefed the deputy minister on their work of ensuring security and safety for the upcoming election.

According to reports, the police forces of the Southwestern provinces actively crafted action plans to handle emerging situations at the grassroots level and ensure absolute security for the upcoming election. 

In addition, they launched various campaigns to suppress crimes and revoked illegally-stored weapons, explosives and combat gears while ensuring traffic order and safety, thus contributing to maintaining a safe environment for the election in their localities.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the 11 provincial police departments for their great efforts and achievements in ensuring security and safety for the upcoming important events.

In the time to come, the deputy minister asked the local police departments to strictly follow the guidelines of the MPS, the Subcommittee on Security and Order for the Election, and the instructions of the local governments on ensuring security and order for the election of the 15th National Assembly and the People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 term.
