Special forest ranger force of Quang Nam makes debut

The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Nam on June 8 organized a meeting to introduce a professional forest ranger force in Song Thanh Natural Reserve (Nam Giang district).

Speaking at the event, Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, noted that Quang Nam is one of the provinces with large natural forest area in the country. Quang Nam's forests serve as natural sanctuaries of high levels of biodiversity, typical  ecosystems, as well as various rare species of flora and fauna.

As a result, it is an urgent need to form a special ranger force to protect the green lung of the province.

The head of the Quang Nam authorities expressed his hope that the forest rangers, who are mainly police and military veterans, will successfully fulfil their tasks of protecting the local forests.
