State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Public Security General To Lam and other member of the Public Security Central Party Committee on July 26 paid floral tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh prior to the 75th War Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947).
The tribute ceremony was held at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security in Hanoi. The event was also attended by leaders of units under the Ministry of Public Security.
Before the heroic spirit of President Ho Chi Minh and fallen public security officers, the delegation respectfully commemorated and expressed their gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the founder, caretaker and teacher of the Public Security Forces and paid tribute to the heroic public security martyrs, who had bravely fought and sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the peace and happiness of the people.
According to the Ministry of Public Security’s reports, in recent years, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have led all public security agencies and units nationwide to implement synchronous programs on supporting sick, wounded soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution who used to or are working with the Public Security Forces, in line with resolutions and directives of the Party and State.
The Ministry of Public Security has proposed the President to confer and posthumously confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on 15 public security officers, and the Prime Minister to grant the "Fatherland’s appreciation" certificate to 40 fallen public security officers, “Wounded War Veteran” certificates to 182 public security officers and “Sick War Veteran” certificates to 12 other officers.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with Central agencies, ministries, branches and localities to conduct search and collection of martyrs' remains. Public security units have collected 430 martyrs' remains, including 206 remains of dead public security officers.
The Public Security Central Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security also directed local police of units to provide lifelong support for 320 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, offered 91 savings books to wounded war veterans, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
