State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage paid a visit to the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Municipal Police Department on January 24 ahead of 2022 Lunar New Year (Tet).

Minister of Public Security General To Lam and Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen joined the delegation.

According to a report delivered by Major General Le Hong Nam, Director of the HCMC Municipal Police Department, during the fourth COVID-19 wave in the city last year, the local police force played its key role in maintaining security and social order in the city while resolutely fighting crimes to create a safe environment for local socio-economic recovery.

On behalf of the Party and State, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded the achievements and efforts made by the HCMC police force in 2021.

In the new year, the global and domestic security situation will see complicated   developments, the State President stated. He asked the HCMC police to be ready to respond to any possible security scenarios and proactively propose measures to maintain security, social order and safety in the city.

The State leader requested the HCMC police force to ensure social order and safety during Tet, bringing a happy and safe Tet to local people.
