Nay Phi La, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Health, said the student has been under strict surveillance and quarantined at the provincial hospital, adding that relevant forces have zoned off affected areas and moved to trace down those who had come into close contact with the COVID-19 suspected patient.

Local authorities believe that five people from the area had travelled to Da Nang between July 20 and July 26, with one person having come into close contact with patient 416.

The Dak Lak Department of Health has therefore directed its subsidiary units to promptly enforce preventive measures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic by wearing masks in public places and thoroughly washing hands with disinfectant solution.

Moreover, medical facilities in the province have been requested to continue offering medical examinations for patients who display symptoms of respiratory disease, while simultaneously intensifying efforts to take samples from suspected COVID-19 cases.

The Dak Lak Department of Health has also assigned the Center for Disease Control and Buon Ma Thuot Airport to be in charge of implementing medical declarations and checking the body temperature of passengers arriving on flights from Da Nang.
