Students of People's Police Academy active in donating blood

PSNews – The People’s Police Academy in collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology & Blood Transfusion and Hospital 198 under the Ministry of Public Security on November 25 held a blood donation festival themed "blood of love for dear comrades".

The Academy’s gymnasium, where the blood donation festival took place, was crowded by the school’s officers, teachers, employees and students. They were all in a merry mood, creating a cheerful and warm atmosphere.

The blood donation drive was a significant voluntary program, in which young police officers and students at the school showed their willingness to share difficulties with their hospitalized comrades.

At the event, Bui Khanh Huyen, first-year student said: “Being encouraged by my friends in the Volunteer Blood Donation Club, I have registered for the program. I hope the blood I donated today will help patients in need”.

Sharing the same feelings, Tran Thuy Trang, said: "I feel very proud that my little blood donation will be helpful to other. I will encourage my friends to join next blood donations, because this is a very meaningful activity, reflecting the sense of responsibility of youth…”

Colonel Tran Phuong Tiep, Deputy Head of the Health Office of the People's Police Academy, revealed: "Since the beginning of the year, the academy has organized 4 blood donation days and collected 4770 units of blood. We’re expecting to receive more than 500 blood units for this time”.

For many years, voluntary blood donation has become a significant annual activity of the People’s Police Academy where officers, teachers, workers and students at the school voluntarily donate their blood to support the treatment of Public Security officers and patients in need of blood at hospitals.
