Supporting construction of new houses for family members of late policemen

PSNews-On August 28, a working delegation of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper and Motorola Solutions offered supports of VND 100 million to the families of two police martyrs.

The two police martyrs are Bui Cong Nguyen, officer of the Security Team of the Moc Chau District Police, and Luong Phat Chiem, officer of the Mobile Police Unit of the Son La Provincial Police.

Police martyr Bui Cong Nguyen died while fulfilling his duty. As told by his wife, Lieutenant Dong Thi Dung at the Moc Chau District Police, on January 28, 2015, a five-officer working team of the Moc Chau District Police was deployed on National Highway 43 in Muong Sang commune, Moc Chau district to ensure security and prevent drug trafficking.The police officers detected a suspect.

Nguyen successfully caught and controlled the suspect, but the suspect aggressively fought back and shot Nguyen right in his chest.

Despite his serious injury, Nguyen still kept chasing the suspect and tried to stop him. His comrades then managed to overpower the suspect. Nguyen died on the way to the hospital. He bravely fought criminals and heroically sacrificed himself for a peaceful life of the people without a chance to say good bye to his family.

SinceNguyen’s death, his young wife, Dung, has faced various difficulties.

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the Provincial Police Department of Son La, Police sub-Department of Moc Chau district, CAND Newspaper and Motorola Solutions supported the martyr’s wife in building a gratitude house in tribute to the sacrifice of the martyr.

Meanwhile, the wife of police martyr, Captain Luong Phat Chiem, who used to work at the Mobile Police Unit of the Son La Provincial Police, expressed her sincere thanks to the CAND Newspaper and Motorola Solutions for the significant assistance. Tong Thi Hieu, Chiem’s wife, is also an officer of the Son La Provincial Police.

Senior Colonel Tran Thanh Phong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of CAND Newspaper, said that in the past years, CAND Newspaper and local police have carried out many charitable social programs, especially the program of “70 gratitude houses” to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of CAND Newspaper. This is a meaningful gift that the CAND Newspaper and the sponsor donate to the families of the two martyrs, with hope that they can have their dream houses.

Thanks to the special sentiments and contributions of the CAND newspaper and Motorola Solutions, Lt. Col. Nguyen Trung Tan, Deputy Director of Son La Provincial Police said: “This is a great encouragement to the family of the two martyrs. Over the years, Son La Provincial Police has paid particular attention to the implementation of the policy for the martyr's relatives.”

On behalf of Son La Provincial Police,Lt. Col. Nguyen Trung Tan thanked the attention and donation of the CAND Newspaper to the relatives of the two martyrs.
