Tay Ninh Police meets with religious dignitaries and followers

PSNews – The Tay Ninh Provincial Police on March 12 held a regular new year meeting with religious representatives of the province. The meeting aims to mobilize religious dignitaries and followers to implement Party policies and State laws.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Tri Phuong, Director of the Tay Ninh Police Department, welcomed the delegates to the meeting, saying that religious dignitaries and followers in the province have well implemented Party policies and State laws over the past year.

Despite their differences in religious practices and orientations, all religions share the motto “Good life, good religion” and join efforts with the local authorities in building the homeland, said Senior Colonel Nguyen Tri Phuong.

He held that local religious followers have become increasingly attached to the national unity bloc, and have actively and effectively participated in patriotic emulation movements, such as the movement “All people protecting national security” and the movement of buildingbuild cultural life in residential areas.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Tran Luu Quang affirmed that the provincial authorities in the coming time will continue to increase exchanges and dialogues with religious people, boost cooperation with religious organizations  so as to create favorable conditions for religious organizations to practice their religions within the framework of the Constitution and the laws.

In the spirit of unity and openness, religious dignitaries expressed deep thanks to the care of the Party and State, saying that they were happy attending such a meeting with local leaders.

They also, pledged to promote their role in mobilizing followers to implement Party policies and State laws, and to contribute to local socio-economic development.

Vietnam has recognized and granted operational licenses to 39 religious organizations, which have over 24 million followers, or 27 percent of the country’s population, nearly 53,000 religious dignitaries at all levels, and 28,000 worshiping facilities.
