The People's Public Security Forces have excellently accomplished their main tasks of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety while also demonstrating a high political determination to streamline their structural organization for effectiveness and efficiency.
Ten major achievements of the Public Security Forces last year are listed below:
First, the People Public Security Forces set example and took the lead in implementing Resolution XIII of the Party; advising the Politburo to promulgate and organize a National Conference on the implementation of Resolution No.12 issued by the Politburo on March 16, 2022, on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces to meet the task requirements in the new situation.
Second, the People Public Security Forces has firmly maintain the strategic initiative, protected national security, and ensured social order and safety in the context of complicated security developments in the world and in the region, with the aim of building an orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy society for the sake of –national development and the people's peace and happiness.
Third, the People Public Security Forces have developed plans and taken drastic measures to prevent and combat crimes. The forces have reached all targets and surpassed several of the targets, set by the National Assembly on controlling crimes. The forces proactively identified, discovered and successfully investigated serious complicated economic wrongdoing and corruption cases of public concern, in the spirit of no forbidden zones and no exceptions.
Fourth, the Public Security Forces have taken the lead in the country’s process of national digital transformation, building e-government, digital economy and digital society. The Ministry of Public Security in 2022 put into operation two major projects on national population data and e-ID card issuance and management.
It also proposed the Government to issue and effectively implemented a project on enhancing application of population, electronic identification and electronic authentication data to national digital transformation (Project 06), which provides organizations, businesses and people with practical utilities, effectively serving socio-economic development.
Fifth, in 2022, the legal and administrative and judicial reform sector under the Ministry of Public Security has achieved important results. During the year, the Ministry of Public Security focused on building and improving the legal system on security and social order while successfully completing and submitting the draft Law on Mobile Police and a draft resolution on piloting an auction for vehicle number plates to the National Assembly for approval.
Sixth, the organizational apparatus of the Public Security Forces has been consolidated in the direction of quintessence, compactness and strength. Police units at the grassroots level have been strengthened in a professional manner, contributing to well performing the task of ensuring security and order in each village.
Seventh, the Ministry of Public Security has directed the public security agencies in charge of finance, investment, logistics and technical services to continue improving their professional competence and supplied sufficient.
Eighth, the Ministry of Public Security has organized several major activities. It received various noble awards given by the Party and State on the occasion of the People's Police Force's 60th Founding Anniversary Day (July 20, 1962 - 2022), contributing to raising awareness of public security officers, soldiers and people about the forces’ glorious revolutionary tradition.
Ninth, all public security agencies and units have renovated their staff work, leadership and command in a deeper, more synchronous and more effective way.
Tenth, the Public Security Forces focused on and effectively carried out international cooperation activities, actively contributing to realizing the country's general foreign policy. For the first time, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has sent police officers to UN peacekeeping missions.
