Thai Nguyen police improve students’ knowledge of national sovereignty over sea and islands

PSNews - The provincial police of Thai Nguyen have organized various activities to provide useful information to students about the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa (Paracel and Spratly) islands, contributing to raising their awareness of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the seas and islands.

The External Security Office under the Provincial Police Department of Thai Nguyen in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Thinh Dan ward, Thai Nguyen city recently organized an information dissemination drive on the nation’s sovereignty over islands to students of Luong Ngoc Quyen high school.

The event updated over 400 students and teachers of the schools on the policies of the Party, laws of the State related to the East Sea, as well as various documents as historical evidence demonstrating Vietnam’s legitimate jurisdiction sovereignty and over the two archipelagoes.

Since the beginning of 2018, the provincial police have organized seven dissemination drives on Vietnam’s sea and islands for over 2,000 local people, particularly students and young people as well as foreign students. At the meetings, the organizers introduced various documents, maps and images as legal and historical evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Spratly and Paracel islands, to people from all walks of life.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thai Hop, Head of the Staff of the External Security Office, said that the unit would popularize this information to students of colleges and universities in Thai Nguyen, with the aim of equipping them with sufficient knowledge of the country’s sea and islands, and promoting their sense of patriotism.
